The lavender hedge has grown so tall with its fragrant flowers of blue And now here I come to spoil it all For see what I mean to do My scissors flash, and my basket fills With flowers the colour of distant hills But you will not die as others must Sweet lavender slim and blue You will not fade and fall in the dust you’ll blossom the whole year through In cupboard and drawer in the box and in chest you’ll breathe out the fragrance I love the best.
